I'm just going to say it:

  • Everyone it tired of 5K's & 10K's.

  • Everyone is tired of "competing" against the same folks, week after week.

  • Everyone is tired of the formula "mud runs", "Zombie Runs", and "Girl Runs".

  • How about an event that is never the same, twice?

  • How about an event that is still running, but can be as competitive as you want it?

  • How about an event where the slowest runner, has as much chance to win, as the fastest?

Do I have your attention now?

Introducing the QUARTER ELIMINATION RUN!

Registration: limited to 50 people.

Course: It’s played on a short running course, visible to spectators the whole time, and each lap is between 440 - 880yds in distance.

Goal: to be the first person to complete 10 laps (this means it’s a 2.5 to 5 mile race at the Directors discretion)

How you play:

  • Runners receive their coin sack before starting the race and it must stay with them the entire event.

  • upon the completion of each lap, each participant is given a quarter.

  • upon the completion of each lap, participants get to put one “x” on the lap board: building on the previous. That is to say, you must use a spot adjacent to a completed lap spot.

Strategy:

  • You can put your quarters on the board as you earn them, or hold them in your coin pouch until you feel it’s the right time to use them.

  • Any quarters you earn are yours.

  • You can lobby your fellow runners while you are doing laps to get them to “buy into” your strategy.

  • You can mark your own laps…or donate them to others.

Rules:

If you cut the course, you are disqualified.

If you cheat, you are disqualified.

You can lobby other runners to your strategy.

You can’t run, if your quarters are in the red zone

You can work off quarters in many ways of your choice.

Retiring Quarters:

  • 2 removed for drinking a 16 oz. soda or beer.

  • 2 removed for drinking 20 oz. milk

  • 3 removed for eating a hamburger/soy burger.

  • 3 removed for eating an onion like an apple.

  • 5 removed for eating an extremely hot wing.

  • 5 removed for running a “backward lap”.
