A. That same paddle, but ending with a flight of wines for your tasting enjoyment!

All you need to do is tell us what you need when you come to the event on Friday evening. Here are the boats we have available:
single sit-in kayak
single sit-on kayak
stand up paddle board (we have three available)
Double kayak (we can only bring two of these on this paddle)
Itinerary
4:30 p.m. - our van leaves Riverside Adventure company (476 D & H Ave, Riverside, PA 17868) for the launch location approximately 2 miles upstream. Don’t forget to sign the bus!
5:30 p.m. - finish your paddle, river left, just past the Rt. 54, Danville/Riverside bridge. There will be signs posted you can see from the river.
5:45 p.m. - Flights (of your choosing) served by the staff working at Shade Mountain Winery Riverside Train Station location, on their patio and deck area overlooking the Boro of Riverside.
6:45 p.m. - Event begins to wrap up, and there is a short walk back to Riverside Adventure Company, and your waiting vehicles.
7:00 p.m. - Event concludes.
The paddle - all class 1 (easiest rating) water - about two miles
As per the Itinerary above, we begin our adventure at the Riverside Adventure Company parking lot @ 4:30 p promptly.
We drive up to he Canal Park public access for unmotorized water craft.
Adventurers can select single, double kayaks as well as canoes or stand-up paddle boards for their paddle.
With typical river conditions, this paddle might take up to an hour.
Along the way, you will pass the Fish and Boat launch, some water company structures, some boulders protruding from he water, and if levels are “lowish” you might see some rocky bedrock outcroppings that will produce a few riffles in the water.
When you get to the Danville/Riverside Rt. 54 bridge, you want to start making your way river left. There you will see some signs indicating your take-out point.
Leave your boats, paddles and pfd’s on the side of the river, and from there, our signs and staff will direct you to the Shade Mountain Winery location for the next part of your Adventure!
Shade Mountain Winery - Our Wine Tasting Hosts
A family owned and operated winery and vineyard, proudly grows and harvests over 30 different varieties of grapes. From these grapes, they bottle premium wines including Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer and Pinot Grigio…to name a few.

The rail-side deck at Shade Mountain Winery’s quaintly restored Train Station store at 53 D & H Ave, Riverside, PA store will be our destination and venue for the flight of wine tasting. If weather is a concern, they have a loft area we can utilize.
Flights
When you register for the event, a flight of wines is included. You will pick these out from the options available at the winery at that time.
Conditions and limitations
Maximum group size is 8 Adventurers.
We can not accommodate all types of disabilities. Please let us know in advance what special arrangements might need to be made.
Riverside Adventure Company reserves the right to cancel the event for any reason necessary. Those reasons will primarily revolve around safety of our guests. The river is safe, but dynamic. Weather is also a consideration.
Refunds will be provided if safety is our reason for cancelling. Arriving late will not result in a refund. Nor will changing your mind in the 11th hour. We have costs in regard to securing labor and equipment for these events. Your backing out, does not reduce those costs.
Everyone will be required to sign a waiver before participating. Failure to do so, will result in being denied access to this event.
The paddle portion of the event is “unguided”. If your group requires a guide, that can be arranged, but an additional cost will be incurred.
