A prime directive for Riverside Adventure Company is to expose more people to the Susquehanna River. Whether that is via our long-weekend trips (three-days) or this once/season extended trip we will offer each year in June (on either the West or North branch of the Susquehanna). Regardless of how you do it…we want you to do it.
Chances are: this thing will sell-out pretty quickly. And I will be very up-front about the fact that this will be our first time on a significant portion of this section of river. As a result…we will be learning as you learn. We will have it mapped out, and planned as well as possible, but anyone considering this trip needs to be very aware that “things can happen” and that this trip is not as “full service” as most of our others. It’s basically a scouting trip, but you can come along if you like.
What you get is the following:
planning
logistics
transportation (to and from)
Some level of fellowship and good times
A trip not “boring” or sanitized for your protection. It’s going to be raw.
people who have been on/produced lots of other trips, so our experience level is pretty high including some levels of Wilderness First Aid.
What you won’t get:
A lot of pampering - You will be expected to have your own gear. If you need a boat…we can likely help you with that, but camping stuff, etc will be on you.
Food - you will need to bring your own. You will likely NOT have to carry food for a full week as we will shuttle cars from time to time, and stop in towns.
Excuses - We have a pretty serious distance to cover and some objectives along the way. So, we will need to keep it moving, and write some things down, and make plans for future trips to the region.
