Riverside Adventure Company is working with Amy Houseknecht to create some paddling opportunities that combine exercise for your body, with exercise for your mind and soul.

Getting ready to hit the water.

When we give life a chance to impress us…it always delivers.

Amy Houseknecht - your guide

Arguably, there is no prettier spot in Montour County to spend a beautiful Saturday morning than the Montour Preserve.

Below, you will find the itinerary and timetable for this event, as well as some words from Amy about what she does, and what she tries to accomplish in her time with folks who are open to stretching, breathing, and practicing mindfulness to fully embrace each day.

From Amy,

”Mindfulness is a self generated energy that supplies us with the space and time we need to create an increased quality of learning and life. Mindfulness enhances the ability to organize tasks, manage time, set priorities, and make decisions. Life does not have to be a struggle to live a present, fulfilling, happy life. Meditation is a practice for achieving these goals. Meditation provides us with tools for navigating this stressful world, while allowing us to deepen our connection with self.

Join me for a guided meditation, breathwork techniques, sound healing; followed by Makko Ho daily renovation stretches which rejuvenate the body, strengthen crucial core body functions, and stimulate blood and lymph circulation. Movement creates improved health and life.

In the Decompress/Less stress event we will ask ourselves if we are nurturing our seed of intention? Focus on nurturing ourselves and our intentions. Self care techniques will be modeled for participants. Activities include: Nurturing yoga poses, and sound healing meditation.

I feel nurtured and peaceful in nature, appreciative of the quiet space it provides us to be, connect, and create; I invite you to share in this space with me. “

Decompress and Loose the Stress-Disconnect from Technology and reconnect with yourself.

Self nurturing and care techniques that will assist particioants in releasing stress. Yoga, sound healing meditation, and reflective paddle.

Paddle will include a stop for meditative walking and flora/fauna exploration.

“A quiet mind cureth all.” Robert Burton
